News
In case you haven’t heard, ROCS has a new page on NSIDC’s internet site! Check it out: http://newice.colorado.edu:8000/rocs/index.html. You will find us under Centers and Programs.
This year Allaina will begin cataloging the analog archives collections by writing detailed descriptions about them. She may be seeking out information from staff about certain collections in order to better understand their value and history. She will be traveling between her office in room 259 and the archives in room 269. So, if you are looking for her, check both places. Ultimately, these descriptions will become catalog records in NSIDC’s data catalog. Users will then be able to search for items in the collection and make appointments to use the materials in the archives.
Staff Report
Allaina will be out of the office for part of the day Friday the 19th.
Reminders
There are oversized items located in the archives room (269) and most can be checked out. Maps, ice charts, atlases, and other bound materials are stored flat in the large map cabinets to protect them from tears and other problems that would result from being stored on shelves too small for their size. See Gloria or Allaina if you need to access them.
